Cooking with us, a few good things to know before booking...
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
(NOTE: Please go to the 'INFO' drop down menu to view our Online class Terms and Conditions)

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Due to the bespoke nature of a cookery class, each session involves a lot of forward planning which includes recipe and portion planning, careful sourcing and advanced purchasing of ingredients, packaging, equipment, hiring of the venue and organisation of helpers and leaders. A significantly large amount of preparation time is also needed prior to each class. Class sizes are also small and places are therefore limited. For these reasons, payments made or due are non-refundable. This includes the rare and unlikely event of a school/venue closure due to adverse weather conditions or any other situation that may occur with the site/venue that prevents us from running the class and matters are taken out of our hands.
In the also very unlikely situation that a recipe cannot be completed during the session time due to equipment failure at the premises or a fire alarm or other emergency/event occurring, apologies but no refund can be made as the session will have already commenced.
When a booking is made, a due date for registration forms and payment will be given. If this due date is surpassed the booking may no longer be held and the place/s or booking slot may be made available to others. Places can be re-booked if available.
After-school club and Saturday Club sessions are booked and paid for as a course per half-term. No refund can be given and no adjustment to the course fee can be made if a child is absent, for any reason, for any session during the course as these places cannot be filled during this time.

You will be contacted prior to the beginning of each new half-term with details, including the new term dates and cost. for the new block. You will be asked to let us know if your child will NOT be returning (no need to let us know if they are returning) so that any spare places can be made available to others. If you do not let us know, and the new term begins, you will be liable for the cost of the sessions until confirmation that your child will not be returning is received. This is because, until you let us know, the place is automatically held for your child.
Due to the nature of all classes, a minimum number of children are required to be able to run the sessions. If this minimum number is not met, the session may be subject to cancellation by ourselves. A full refund for the session will be given should this occur.
ONLINE CLASSES
Cookery Club has now been set up to run online classes using the Zoom platform. Where these are offered as sessions in their own right, once payment has been made, no refund will be given should the participant/s choose or be unable to join in for whatever reason. This is because, as outlined, significant preparation is carried out prior to each session and numbers are accounted for in this.

There are separate Online Class Terms and Conditions that must be read alongside these General Terms and Conditions before accessing and taking part in an Online Session. These can be found on the drop-down menu, in the INFO section, on this website.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Please do not bring or allow children to bring any important/precious personal belongings to a session. Class participants will be responsible, in full, for all of their personal belongings and we will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to any item/s. This will also apply in the event that we accept a request to keep anything in safe-keeping for the duration of the session and to belongings that are left at the session after departure which may be taken to the school office by a member of the team.

MOBILE PHONES
Use of mobile phones, by the participants, is not permitted during any Cookery Club session. If a child needs to make a call/send a message, they must speak to an adult to gain
permission.

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Safe use of the premises, equipment, utensils, ingredients, packaging and other items to be used will also be discussed and explained on an ongoing basis as necessary. No equipment, utensil, ingredient, piece of packaging or other item is to be touched or used unless specified by a class leader. These include all items and belongings that are already present at the premises and may not belong to our club.

Marmalade Food Club and its staff will not be responsible for any accidents, incidents or damage caused by misuse or disregard to instructions of equipment, utensils, ingredients, packaging or other items provided or any that may be present at the premises. This includes the premises themselves and any personal belongings brought into the session. Parents will be liable for any damage or costs incurred if caused by misuse or disregard of instructions by their child/ren whilst at a session or present on the premises.

Children will be instructed and helped to follow a recipe which is provided at each session. Each recipe and its methodology is carefully formulated and risk assessed to ensure its quality and safety.
ALLERGIES AND INTOLERANCES
Nuts are not used as a direct ingredient or sub-ingredient in any recipe we make, in our on-site classes, however some ingredients/products used do carry generic nut disclaimers on their packaging whereby the manufacturer cannot guarantee the ingredient or product is free from traces of nuts. We also cannot guarantee that the setting is free from traces of nuts. This is also the case for other allergens. We will discuss all allergen/intolerance/dietary needs with you at the time of your enquiry or booking. Our full policy regarding Allergies and Intolerances is available on request. Please note that the recipe and dish made in each cookery club session is for the intended consumption of the child attending only and has been developed with only them in mind based on the information provided by the parent/carer. It is not possible to take into account the allergies/intolerances of family members or friends. Information regarding the allergens in any recipe made is available at each Cookery Club session and is written on the recipe sheets which the children are welcome, but not obliged, to take home. Please ask a member of the Marmalade Food Club team at the session if you would like any allergen information for any recipe/dish or contact us at info@marmaladefoodclub.co.uk at any time.
